About this collection

Northfield History Collaborative partner

KYMN Radio was established as a 1,000-watt station in 1968. Then-owner, manager, and morning host Wayne Eddy began broadcasting on Sept. 27, 1968.

Today, the station broadcasts at 1080 AM and online with a wide variety of programming.

Collections

KYMN’s contribution to the Collaborative to date includes a six-part interview by Wayne Eddy with former governor and congressman Al Quie, who was born near Northfield. Also included are about 40 photographs from the station’s office in the 1970s and 80s, a number of jingles and commercials from that time period, and about a dozen more hours of the Wayne Eddy Affair. Look for additional material to be added in the near future. Find a detailed survey of KYMN Radio’s historical collections here. Find a summary of the collection here.
