Description
Kanta (Anti-Japanese University) with registration of over 9,000 in 1938, conducted its classes outdoors. Student dormitories consist of caves in the background hills of loess. Graduates of Kangta served as guerilla leaders and political officers. After 1949, many Kangta graduates would serve in the national and provincial governments. (AP dispatch 36)

Acess JPEG image is derived from a high-resolution (at least 400 dpi, 24-bit) uncompressed TIFF image that was scanned from the original using an Epson 10,000XL Scanner with Adobe Photoshop CS2 Windows scanning software.
