Voting will take place in the usual polling places, 12:00 noon - 8:00 p.m. May 18 - "The Dilemna of the Peaceful Atom" An all-day symposium, starting at 9:00 a.m. and featuring Dr. John Gofman (co-author of Poisoned Power) and - hopefully - James Schlesinger (chairman of the AEC). Sponsored by the Junior League of Minneapolis, this meeting will be held at the Radisson South Hotel on Highway 494. Fee for the symposium, $3.50. May 18, 8:00 p.m. - "Funding Village and City Sewage Treatment Plants" Perry Beaton - an engineer in the section of municipal works, Minnesota Pollution Control Agency - will speak at Olin Hall Auditorium, Carleton College, as a guest of CVDA. His topic relates well to a local problem: the lack of sewage treatment for the Village of Dundas, three miles upstream the Cannon River from Northfield. Channel 2 TV - May 8, 6:30 p.m. - Environment and Pesticides how the harmful effects of pesticides can be greatly reduced May 9, 7:30 p,m. - The Advocates Should the U.S. ban the sale and manufacture of DDT? May 11, 6:30 p.m. - Can We Solve Water Pollution Problems? on Your Right to Say It, originating at Northwestern University May 11, 9:30 p.m. - Correct Pesticide Usage how the Minnesota Agricultural Extension Service helps in the correct application of pesticides May 22, 7:00 p.m. - Black Coal: Red Power the devastating effects of strip mining on the natural economy of Navajo and Hopi Indians living on reservations in northwestern Arizona. Board meeting - 9:30 a.m., May 31, at Cynthia Buchwald's home, 705 E. Wood ley. All are welcome! Babysitting provided, 250 per child.
