Their flesh is clear with small seeds. Palm trees are used in many different ways, and are therefore central to life in Andaw and villages in the surrounding area. The palm fronds are used to build the roof of houses, the palm fruit is eaten and is also fermented into palm wine and liquor, and the inside of the palm tree and its roots can be eaten.
